Justice Should Respect Taxpayers,
Avoid Expensive Special Sessions
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Republican Party Chairman Conrad Lucas issed this statement on the Legislature's successful passage of a balanced budget this weekend.

"The work is done and the taxpayers will be the winners of this year's Legislative Session. Our Republican majorities have voted for a conservative balanced budget that ensures we do not spend funds we don't have and is a start toward right-sizing bloated state government. We encourage the Governor to save our taxpayers the cost of Special Sessions and sign this budget now.
Long term, we must cut taxes and change the tax code to ensure the growth we need for West Virginia's Comeback Story. Reforms are not radical. They are required for the future of this state as we rebuild our coal and manufacturing industries."
