Manchin Abandoned W.Va. Families
D.C. Joe Backed Obama & Hillary
Attacked Coal & Firearm Freedoms
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Republican Party Chairman Conrad Lucas issued this statement on Joe Manchin and West Virginia's Republican future in the U.S. Senate in the 2018 Election:
"It's not a surprise that Republican friends are lining up to run against Washington D.C.'s favorite Senator, Joe Manchin. For years he's claimed to be one of us when in West Virginia. But the truth is that he's abandoned West Virginia families at every turn.
First he blessed Obama's War On Coal with his endorsement in 2008, then passed a Cap & Trade law here at home. He's joined gun-grabbers like Michael Bloomberg and Nancy Pelosi who don't believe we should be able to defend ourselves and homes from dangerous illegals or terrorists who took advantage of our weak borders. And he again endorsed Hillary Clinton last year, despite her pledge to put coal miners and coal companies out of business.
We stand with Donald Trump and the state who spoke most loudly for his return to the Constitution, jobs and personal freedom. We look forward to ending the embarrassing liberal political career of Joe Manchin. West Virginia deserves representatives who aren't embarrassed to take our precious values to the Capitol and vote for what folks here want.
