Charleston, W.Va. – West Virginia Republican Party (WVGOP) Chairwoman Elgine McArdle issued the following statement, announcing Kyle Saunders as the Executive Director of the WVGOP.
“The 2024 election cycle will be historic, both in West Virginia and across the nation; understanding this and the degree to which the balance of power in Washington, D.C. will hinge on the success of the Republican Party in the State of West Virginia, I am very pleased to announce the hiring of Kyle Saunders as Executive Director of the West Virginia Republican Party. The WVGOP must be instrumental in Republican efforts to win elections from the courthouse to the White House, and with Kyle at the helm, I am confident we will do just that.”
Mr. Saunders is a West Virginia native and graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Kyle has previously held positions with the Republican Governors Association, Susan B. Anthony List, West Virginia Republican Legislative Committee, and most recently, the Office of U.S. Congresswoman Carol D. Miller (WV-01).
“Mr. Saunders’ knowledge, experience, professionalism, and familiarity with the Mountain State will be an immeasurable asset to the West Virginia Republican Party and the national efforts to return a crucial Republican majority to the U.S. Senate,” McArdle added. “I would also like to thank Byron Fisher for his service to the WVGOP, both as Executive Director and Senior Advisor. Byron is a wealth of knowledge, and as he directs his focus to other clients and professional endeavors, he will continue to offer advice and counsel in preparation of the upcoming summer meeting, and I expect he will continue to be a valuable supporter and resource to our Party and its members.”
On accepting his new position, Saunders added, “I am grateful to Chairwoman McArdle for affording me the opportunity to help lead the West Virginia Republican Party during this exciting time, and I am very eager to begin the important work of raising funds, advancing our agenda, supporting our candidates, engaging grassroots volunteers, winning elections, and delivering results for all West Virginians — and with the role we will play in removing Chuck Schumer as Senate Majority Leader — for all Americans.”
