FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 8, 2023
Wayne, W.Va. – Wayne County has officially “flipped red,” with registered Republicans outnumbering registered Democrats for the first time ever.
“These are historic times in Wayne County! The Wayne County Republican Party has worked tirelessly to implement a positive culture of moral values to Wayne County citizens. Yesterday, we were a meager group clinging to the values we were raised on. Today, we are an army that is 9,842 citizens strong defending those very principles. Tomorrow, our voters will go to the ballot box to take our county back,” stated Bruce Workman, Chair of the Wayne County Republican Executive Committee. “This remarkable political shift reflects the dedication and hard work of countless individuals who have tirelessly advocated for conservative ideals over the years. Wayne County is committed to limited government, individual liberty, protecting the sanctity of life, and fiscal responsibility, and this has resonated with our voters, leading to this momentous change.”
West Virginia Republican Party Chairwoman Elgine McArdle added, “This shift in Wayne County is a testament to what we’ve been witnessing for a while now: the Democrat Party’s liberal agenda is ravaging families and businesses, but due to the resolve and determination of concerned citizens and Republican activists across Wayne County, West Virginia, and the United States, more and more people are leaving the Democrat Party and embracing the vision and platform of the GOP.”
Monthly voter registration totals can be found on the Secretary of State’s website.
