Charleston, WV — The West Virginia Republican Party announced the launch of a new “WVGOP Veterans and Military Families Coalition” over Veterans Day Weekend. The announcement is as follows:
West Virginia is truly blessed by its staggering number of residents who are veterans or members of military families. These individuals have given so much for their state and for their country, and it’s our job to make sure our state and communities give back to them. November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, and the West Virginia Republican Party speaks with one voice in expressing its sincere gratitude for the sacrifice of all who have served their country, as well as all the mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, and loved ones who stand alongside our veterans and service members.
In honor of National Veterans and Military Families Month, the West Virginia Republican Party is launching the WVGOP Veterans and Military Families Coalition. The Coalition will bring together and engage a group of qualifying members who support our cause to collectively promote our Republican candidates for office, participate in service projects, and advocate for veteran-friendly policies that continue the pursuit of making West Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
Secretary of State Mac Warner (ret. U.S. Army) and Commissioner of Agriculture Kent Leonhardt (ret. U.S. Marine Corps) will serve as Honorary Co-Chairmen of the Veterans and Military Families Coalition. On December 11th, the Coalition will join Wreaths Across America to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the West Virginia State House to remember and honor all those who served.
Those interested in joining the WVGOP Veterans and Military Families Coalition are cordially invited and encouraged to visit www.wvgop.org/volunteer and select “Join WVGOP Veterans and Military Families Coalition.”
