Charleston, WV — West Virginia Republican Party (WVGOP) Chairman Matt Herridge released the following statement on Tuesday, following President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress.
“Tonight, President Trump displayed for the American people exactly what he promised in the campaign. The age of American decline is over, as the Trump-Vance Administration vows to reinstate an America First, common sense theme of governance. Whether it be energy dominance, secure borders, less bureaucracy, peace through strength, lower taxes, or improved educational and health outcomes, President Trump is working every day to deliver the renewal of the American Dream. In just his first six weeks, the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress have taken strategic steps to achieve each of these policy initiatives. While congressional Democrats wanted to create a spectacle tonight, President Trump wanted to make clear this is the dawn of a new American Golden Age. America’s best days are still to come, and as the President said, ‘America’s momentum is back. Our spirit is back. Our pride is back. Our confidence is back…And the American Dream is surging—bigger and better than ever before.‘”
