Named To Top 100 Of Influential African-American GOP
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Newly elected Delegate Jill Upson of Jefferson County is not only a star of the WVGOP's 17-member freshman class in the House of Delegates, she's also getting national attention.
Upson was named last week to NEWSMAX's Top 100 List of Most Influential African-American Republicans, joining such national luminaries and elected officials as Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, former Secretary of State Condolezza Rice, and current and former Presidential candidates Ben Carson and Herman Cain.

Upson won election to the House in her second run for the 65th District, from Charles Town. Upson is lead sponsor in the House of the West Virginia Public Charter Schools Act of 2015 and sits on the Education Committee.
