Governor Jim Justice Outlines Bold Proposals, Achievements, and COVID in State of the State Address

Charleston, W.V. – West Virginia Republican Party Acting Chairman Roman Stauffer released the following statement on Governor Jim Justice’s State of the State Address this evening.

“Tonight, Governor Jim Justice outlined bold proposals that will continue to move West Virginia forward, reform our tax structure, attract more jobs and opportunities, hold state government spending flat, and focused on the tremendous success and heartbreak our state has experienced over the last year as it navigated the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Governor Justice highlighted our state’s response to COVID-19 and vaccine deployment, which serves as a model for other states, and remembered those West Virginians we lost to COVID-19 over the last year.

“He reflected on our tremendous success in bringing more jobs and securing economic development opportunities, like Virgin Hyperloop, and our continued investment in roads, highways, and broadband infrastructure, and new partnerships and investments from entrepreneurs like John Chambers and Brad Smith.

“Without question, tonight, Governor Justice laid out bold proposals, which can help West Virginia continue to be successful, grow our economy, create more jobs, recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and move us forward.

“It’s an exciting time as our state looks to the future and the tremendous opportunities before us.”
