Statement on Jill Biden’s Visit to West Virginia
WVGOP Urges Jill Biden to Help Stop President’s Job-Killing Policies
Charleston, WV – The West Virginia Republican Party issued the following statement in response to First Lady Jill Biden’s upcoming visit to West Virginia:
The Republican Party of West Virginia welcomes First Lady Jill Biden to our state and asks her to please deliver a message to her husband: Reverse course on your job-killing policies that will destroy our state’s economy.
Recently, President Joe Biden announced a call to reduce America’s carbon dioxide emissions by 50% over the next 10 years. A reporter for E&E News put it succinctly in an article titled “Biden’s climate goal would end American coal.” Simply put, the impact of any policy to “end coal” on West Virginia would be devastating. West Virginia is the nation’s second largest coal producer and has a large industrial base that would be crippled by the Biden administration’s job-killing regulations.
If Jill Biden is unwilling to ask the President to reverse course on his anti-West Virginia agenda, the Party requests that she explain to the school children that she will visit where they will live once the Biden agenda destroys our state’s economy.
