Charleston, WV- Today, the Democrats in DC announced a $3.5 trillion spending plan with absolutely no Republican support. West Virginia Republican Party Chair Mark Harris released the following statement on the plan:
The $3.5 Trillion dollar monstrosity released today is politics at its worst. The Democrats proudly announced their plan to be passed with literally no Republican support. Instead of bringing our country together and building consensus, the Democrat plan is to steamroll any opposition and deliberately tear our country apart.

The Democrats are messaging their spending as “Care Infrastructure.” Unfortunately, the term itself is an oxymoron akin to the existence of a “sweet-smelling skunk.” Infrastructure is made up of physical assets like bridges, roads, and broadband NOT social spending.
Beyond the inherent contradictions of the primary purpose of the bill, our nation cannot afford a massive spending and tax package. The truth is America’s debt is over $28 trillion, that is over $85,000 for every man, woman, and child in this country. There is no way we as a nation can afford this spending package.
Finally, the massive spending increase will undoubtedly fuel inflation which is already higher than at any point over the last decade. Increased deficit spending will only add fuel to the out-of-control inflation inferno consuming our fragile economy.
Simply put, the Democrats $3.5 trillion spending plan is awful politics, unaffordable, and needs to be immediately killed.
