WVGOP Protest Gayle Manchin’s Swearing-In of $160K+ Biden Job
Demand Manchin Forgo Her Salary
Charleston, WV- Today the West Virginia Republican Party protested outside Gayle Manchin’s swearing-in as Co-Chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission. The Party also demanded Gayle Manchin return her government salary to avoid the obvious appearance of corruption.
“Given the President’s recently announced plan to cut America’s carbon dioxide emissions in half by 2030, a move which would devastate West Virginia’s economy, Gayle Manchin will be one of the only residents of this state to grow richer under the Biden administration’s policies,” said WVGOP Chair Mark Harris. He continued, “Her appointment to a position paying over $160,000 a year smacks of corruption. The WVGOP demands Mrs. Manchin return her salary to the federal government just like Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump did during their time in government service.”
